The Portuguese Association for Diversity and Inclusion (APPDI) has pioneered a Diversity seal, hosting an annual competition to award this distinction to participating Portuguese companies. In collaboration with the High Commission for Migration, this initiative, now in its 4th year, aims to acknowledge and reward organisations committed to developing and implementing policies and practices that promote and enhance diversity. The Diversity seal encompasses six categories, including top management and hierarchical commitment, organisational culture, recruitment, selection, and people management practices, professional development and career progression, communication of principles, and working conditions and accessibility. Companies are encouraged to submit multiple applications, one per category, showcasing practices currently in effect within the organisation. This initiative not only celebrates diversity but also encourages a comprehensive approach to promoting an inclusive workplace culture in Portugal.
