Prisoner rehabilitation through coffee machine repair workshop

The insertion of prisoners is a critical aspect of rehabilitation, and a best practice in this realm is exemplified by the EPL (Estabelecimento Prisional de Lisboa) and Delta Cafés – Grupo Nabeiro protocol. This innovative initiative involves community engagement through the establishment of a workshop dedicated to repairing coffee machines, grinders, and dishwashing machines for the restaurant industry. The aim of this program is to facilitate the social reintegration of prisoners into the workforce. The success of this initiative hinges on the mobilisation of both internal and external human resources, encompassing support, training, and coordination efforts, alongside the provision of necessary equipment.
